Start a University Chapter

Mediators Beyond Borders charters graduate level University Chapters that support and participate in MBB activities and projects. In addition to support and research, Chapter members conduct community outreach building conflict resolution and peace-building awareness.

Students at any graduate level are eligible for membership and priority experience or training as a peer mediator or courses in mediation or other related topics are now required. Faculty advisors and MBB Mediator Members assist with educational and mentoring activities. And, like MBB, University Chapters are essential to building the next generation of mediators.

Individuals must meet the sponsoring university’s requirements for student organizations. Undergraduate students and other members of the university community are welcome to participate in most Chapter-sponsored on-campus activities.

University Charter Members enjoy almost the same benefits as MBB’s Mediator Members. They include:

Pay Dues
University Chapters in the U.S. pay US $365 regardless of the number of students. Faculty members can become members with no additional fee. For International University Chapters, the fee is US $182.50.

Start a Professional Chapter

Professional Chapters are groups of paying MBB Members who are in the same location and share the mission and passion of MBB. They work to together to translate MBB's goals into action and outreach in their communities.

Chartering Process
Each Professional Chapter has to file a constitution or charter, as their laws require. No additional fee for filing is required. A sample constitution/charter will be prepared and posted. Each Professional Chapter shall commit in its constitution/charter to follow the Ethics Guidelines of either the International Mediation Institute (IMI), ABA-ADR Section or the ACR, or other as determined by the Board.
