This includes in: local communities, civil society, private businesses and political circles. MBBI’s parallel event during CSW61 will highlight the exceptional work of women mediators and leaders in peacebuilding, conflict resolution and prevention, education and partnerships. Our panel members will include speakers who will: a) outline the work of Mediators Beyond Borders International (MBBI)’s International Training Institute (ITI)—a skills-building training that empowers women in over seventeen countries (including in the Middle East and North African Region, sub-Saharan Africa, and Southeast Asia, and in 2017, in South America) in community and civil society leadership roles for sustainable peace and development; b) highlight the importance of the full and effective participation of women at all levels of peace processes—with emphasis on the role of gender expertise in mediation and c) and share how mediators and peacebuilders can support the economic empowerment of women in a changing workplace.
