Designed and led by Ashok Panikkar of MetaCulture, this webinar series is co-sponsored by Mediators Beyond Borders International – New York (MBBI-NY) and the Millennium Alliance of Humanity and the Biosphere (Stanford University). This 12-part Conflict, Culture & Democracy Webinar Course is scheduled to begin Wednesday, September 4th, 2019.
The Webinar is designed to help participants place the current global crisis of democracy within the larger context of social and political development. Navigating through this perfect storm of a crisis (ecological, economic, political and cultural) will depend upon our ability to understand how we got here, the multiple forces that are in play (e.g. economics, technology, our own physiology and neurology) and what history can teach us about human successes and limitations in addressing complex problems.
The webinar series will seek to inspire a discourse around democracy, politics and culture that is well-informed, thoughtful and mature, rather than reactive, angry, wishful or riddled with assumptions.
