Marijana Nedić is based in Italy and Belgrade, Serbia, and is a soon-to-be graduate of the Human rights and multi-level governance, Master’s program at Padova University. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and is also a licensed mediator in Serbia. Maya, as her friends call her, is a passionate activist in the field of women’s rights, workers’ rights, victims’ rights, and a determined mental health advocate. Moreover, she finds great value in educating young people and gladly facilitates self-help and support groups on topics like assertiveness, self-care, healthy emotional regulation, and the importance of recognizing and stopping discrimination in our communities. She doesn’t shy away from talking about environmental issues and practices a vegan lifestyle. Due to strong emphatic traits, she is drawn to work on projects aimed at helping war-struck regions and promoting movements aiming to mobilize local and international communities in achieving peace in all parts of the world. This led her to join Mediators Beyond Borders and work on the Trauma-Informed Peacebuilding project, related to the war in Ukraine, as well as to join the MBB-Europe group, in the hopes of making a greater impact – closer to home.
