Beginning on May 16\, she will join the State University of New York- University at Buffalo School of Law Environmental Advocacy Clinic as a Program Specialist for Cultural & International Issues. Prior to this\, she served as a Legal Expert at the Afghanistan Legal Research and Development Organization\, leading the “Strengthening Afghan Women Judges Association Project” in Partnering with Max Planck Foundation for International Peace and Rule of Law in Kabul. She also served as Lecturer at Herat and Jami Universities in Herat. As part of her professional career\, she worked as a regional coordinator with Afghans for Progressive Thinking\, a youth-led organization working for peacebuilding in Afghanistan. Farida completed her Bachelor’s degree in Law and political science at Herat University

DESCRIPTION:The MBBI- Rotary Working Group was established\, at the Rotary Convention in Hamburg 2019\, to connect like-minded PeaceBuilders\, strengthen the MBBI Rotary Partnership and learn more about global peace programs for potential involvement to grow our collective efforts.\n \n\nOur online monthly meetings are the second Tuesday of the month and rotate at either 8 am Pacific Time / 5 pm Pacific Time.\n \nIt is an open group to MBBI members\, Rotarians\, and any PeaceBuilder who desires greater involvement in the global community. \n \nAs we Share peace projects\, educate one another\, and build partnerships within the group we have a greater opportunity for a more Peaceable World.

She is currently based out of New Haven\, Connecticut and works as a consultant for startups. She has a dual LL.M. in International Dispute Settlement from the National University of Singapore\, University of Geneva and The Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies\, Geneva. She is also a trained mediator. In the past she has advised clients on trade and customs laws\, statutory compliances. She has also represented companies before the High Courts\, Tax Tribunals and Arbitration Tribunals. Her expertise comes from her experiences working with law firms and as an in-house counsel. She has completed her B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from the National University of Advanced Legal Studies\, Kochi.

DESCRIPTION:MBBI’s United Nations Multilateral Working Group (UNMWG) was created in response to the United Nations’ (UN) call on civil society to help build its mediation capacity. \n \nUNMWG fosters partnerships to support the international community’s mediation and conflict prevention capacity-building efforts\, advocates for the use and value of mediation in the UN system\, and engages MBBI membership in collaborating with and supporting the UN.
