Ombuds Team for Mediators Beyond Borders!

Mediators Beyond Borders is pleased to announce appointment of their panel of volunteer ombudsman. We are fortunate to have a spread of volunteers around the world with very diverse backgrounds.

This Ombuds Team provides MBB and its members an online system to enable our community to discuss any issues, with the important features of confidentiality, neutrality and informality. The lead ombudsman is Chris LaHatte, who is the ICANN ombudsman based in New Zealand, and has undertaken this role as a volunteer. He is ably assisted by two other appointments: Ayo Ayoola-Amale who is based in Ghana and Yolanda Woods who lives in the United States.

Chris has a diverse legal background and has appeared in all levels of courts and tribunals in New Zealand. Chris is a member of the International Ombudsman Association and an individual member of the International Ombudsman Institute. Ayo Ayoola-Amale is a Skilled Mediator, Arbitrator, Solicitor, and Ombudsman with experience as a commercial, community mediator/ ombudsman. She is qualified with a Bachelor of Laws, and Masters of Law in law and ADR. Yolanda Woods is a Community Mediator for a United States inner city program in Baltimore City. Using her grassroots experience she built a platform as the State of Maryland first municipal Ombuds.
