IMPACT
Every Number Has a Story
Behind every number is a person equipped to build peace, a community strengthened through dialogue, or a relationship transformed by understanding.
Because impact isn't just counted, it is lived.
Peace is built one training, one conversation, and one community at a time.
These stories show how MBBI equips local changemakers with the skills, support, and connections to build peace in their communities.
MBBI IS
Saving Lives
After completing MBBI's International Training Institute for Women PeaceBuilders (ITI), Dr. Paloma Martínez taught in Urabá, Colombia, and co-founded Colidérate, an initiative created to help protect community leaders whose lives were at risk because of their work.
Drawing on the conflict resolution and leadership skills she gained through MBBI's training, Paloma helped grow the initiative from a digital safety platform into a broader community effort focused on protection, prevention, and support for leaders facing violence and insecurity.
MBBI IS
Rebuilding Communities
In Liberia, MBBI supported the repatriation and reintegration of former child soldiers returning from refugee camps in Ghana and partnered with female ex-combatants who were frequently overlooked by reintegration programs because they were seen only as victims, not combatants.
Together, MBBI and its partners provided psychosocial support, mediation, and vocational training, equipping participants with the tools to heal, rebuild trust, and create new roles for themselves as peacebuilders, leaders, and contributors.
MBBI IS
Training the Next Generation of Peacebuilders
Through the inaugural ASEAN Youth Peacebuilders Programme (AYPP), MBBI and Rotary International brought together 43 emerging leaders from 11 Southeast Asian countries to build peacebuilding skills. MBBI designed and delivered an interactive curriculum in mediation, dialogue, conflict transformation, emotional resilience, and positive peace, equipping participants with the knowledge, skills, and connections to create positive change in their communities. With continued coaching from MBBI, AYPP alumni are now implementing projects that advance peace, education, mental health, and social cohesion across the region.
