MBBI is the Recipient of the 2024 Frank E.A. Sander Innovation in ADR Award

Mediators Beyond Borders International is honored to be the recipient of the 2024 Frank E.A. Sander Innovation in ADR Award. This award was established to recognize innovative methods and extraordinary achievements in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution by the American Bar Association Section of Dispute Resolution. On April 11, 2024, Prabha Sankaranarayan, CEO of MBBI accepted the award presented by Ana Sambold, chair of the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution. Representatives of the Board, staff and members from across the USA, attended the annual conference and award ceremony held in San Diego, taking the opportunity to connect with mediators and ADR professionals nationwide at this premier event in the field. Ken Cloke, a visionary leader in the field, and co-founder of MBBI gave the keynote speech on April 12th.

MBBI was founded seventeen years ago at a time when the founders recognized the critical need for conflict transformation skills at all levels of the community, keenly aware of the necessary shift from the ‘powerful nations’ model to a ‘people-centered’ peacebuilding model; of the increasing leadership role of regional and sub-regional organizations, along with increasing engagement of civil society actors. All of these transitions underscored the need to prepare people at every level for participation in state-of-the-art peacebuilding processes that are multidisciplinary and collaborative.

Our mission of building local skills for peace and promoting mediation worldwide remains relevant and necessary – maybe even more so today. We are deeply grateful to our supporters, partners, and members who give so generously of their skills and resources that it makes everything we accomplish possible. Please join us and learn about our “collaboration regions” across the globe.
