Catalina Chaux-Echeverri
Catalina Chaux-Echeverri is a bilingual (Spanish & English) lawyer with an LLM in Alternative Dispute Resolutions (York University), a certificate in ADR (UofT), and a specialization in Economic Law (U. Externado), She is a Professional Certified Coach with extensive experience in the public sector, international relations, and working with communities to leverage their potential. This experience has to give her a solid background and a deep understanding of the development and implementation of public policies allowing her to foresee the importance of coaching, conflict resolution, mediation, and peacebuilding as basic tools to achieve specific social objectives. She used this background and experiences in the different projects she worked with, involving rural areas, farmers, small entrepreneurs, communities, settlement, and the inclusion of diversity perspective, helping to create peace and harmony in these communities.
She believes in the importance of awareness as a step to look beyond possibilities and finding choices that allow us to achieve the best in us and eventual fulfillment. In her practice, she does conflict resolution, gives workshops, coaches individuals, corporate executives, ex-pats, teams, youth, youth at risk, and couples among others. She is passionate about conflict management, improving communication, culture, diversity, and inclusion and how those differences can help to build bridges that leverage and enrich the potential of the persons, relations, and teams. She focusses her coaching in conflict management, cultural intelligence, transitions, relations, facilitation of business across cultures, and improvement of communication.
She is the founder of CHECS Consulting Services. She is a member of MBBI – Mediators Beyond Borders International, where she is the co-leader of the Colombian – Latin-American Project, Chair of MBB Canada, ITPI Faculty, Co-chair of the 2021 Peace Congress in Quito, Ecuador.
She has been a professor, public speaker, and writer for different media and a volunteer in different organizations. Perennial learner, she is passionate about photography, horses, food, history, good conversations, and humor.
