Barbara Melamed received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and her PhD in psychology from the University of Wisconsin. Currently, she is working with colleagues in Cambodia at Future Light Orphanage where she is also a foster parent. Also, she is active in protecting the Aina of Hawaiian natives and is involved with the dispute over building the world’s largest telescope on their sacred Mauna Kea mountain. She holds a graduate certificate from the University of Hawaii, Matsunaga Institute in Peace & Conflict Resolution. She is on the Board of Directors of the Gandhi International Center for Peace.

Dwi Rubiyanti Kholifah, is the country representative for the Asian Muslim Action Network (AMAN) Indonesia--- which is concerned with women in relation to peace-building and inter-faith cooperation. She holds an MA in Health and Social Science from Mahidol University in Thailand. With AMAN Indonesia, she has initiated a women’s school for peace in the community to facilitate interfaith dialogue among women in Indonesia. Currently, 9 schools of women and peace are operating to facilitate dialogue among women of minority and majority groups.

Charmaine Mae, works as a Sustainable Integrated Area Development Oganizer (SIADO) at Balay Mindanaw Fdn., Inc. (BMFI). The community-based peacebuilding work is focused on peace building, local governance, and disaster preparedness in the areas affected by violent conflict. She also assists the ICPeace team in delivering peacebuilding courses. She is an active member of the Action Asia and has been part of the team who conducts trainings and evaluation in its programs. She is also an active member of WE Act 1325 Philippines where she echoes the advocacy of the network in her own organizations community work and also integrates it in the course being offered and conducted.

Asmah Tanyongda-oh graduated with a B.A from the faculty of political science at Thammasart University, Bangkok. After that, she worked as a South Thailand project officer at People’s Empowerment Foundation, and is working in peacebuilding with community leaders, youth, and women in Patani/South Thailand and other part of region. Now Asmah is Assistant Vice President of Deep South Women Association for Peace
(Deep Peace)/Persatuan Perempuan Patani (PERWANI)--- the organization to support women empowering and peace building in Patani/South Thailand.

Kusuma Adinugroho brings over two decades of rich experience in Indonesia’s civil society sector. He has a Masters in Development Management from the Asian Institute of Management, Makati City, Philippines and a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Petroleum Production Management, from University of Pembangunan National, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. He is a consultant, in Indonesia and abroad, with expertise in: Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility; Decentralization and Local Capacity Building; Societal and Environmental issues; Disaster Risk Reduction and Disaster Management; Conflict Resolution and Reintegration Institutional Strengthening and Change Management.

Karen Boxer has over 20 years of experience in conflict management, focused primarily on intercultural relations and group identity conflict in the workplace. She brings a broad perspective to mediation, having served as mediator, attorney, and disputant as a corporate manager. Her recent focus has been on group identity issues in post-conflict societies, particularly relating to the role NGOs play in Track II diplomacy, interfaith relations and building sustainable peace. Karen is a licensed California attorney and has an LL.M. degree in Dispute Resolution from Straus Institute.

She worked as teacher in TOTAL K-12 Integrated School. Currently, she is working in The People In Need as program coordinator. She will join the team of Karuna Center as In-country Program Manager.

Merlie “Milet” Mendoza has close to 30 years’ experience in peacebuilding and development in the Philippines---including in the Office of the President’s Peace Commission, the National Unification Commission ,and the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process--- wherein she worked for ten years dealing with the Communist insurgency and the Muslim separatist movement. Since 2007, Milet has worked as an independent humanitarian and peace worker, focused mainly in Mindanao but lending her experience and expertise elsewhere in the country as well. She is also a founding member of the Asian Disaster Reduction and Response Network. Milet has a BA of Science in Psychology and is concluding her MA in Sociology and Anthropology. She has an International Diploma on Humanitarian Assistance (IDHA) from the Center for International Health and Cooperation of Fordham University (NY).

Raihal Fajri, from Aceh, Indonesia, completed her graduation from Ar-Raniry Islamic Studies Banda Aceh and is a postgraduate candidate from Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh, Indonesia. In 2007, she joined the Katahati Institute as a project officer. She was involved in providing inputs in local level documents, Aceh Social Protection Action Plan of Katahati Institute, UNICEF and BAPEDA project. She also involved in Aceh Information Commission candidate selection as selection committee member.

Sai Aik Hin Hsang , from Myanmar, graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Mechatronics Engineering and continues a diploma course on CAD/CAM and CNC. He founded his own CBOs and serves the people in Shan State with: youth capacity building, an education program, women and child protection program, health program, and emergency relief program helping IDPs. He was appointed by Shan State Army (SSA) to be a researcher and Head Master of Orphans Schools. He founded the Tai Youth Network (TYN) the is an umbrella network/coordination body for all Shan CBOs/CSOs, youth from political parties, armed group of the whole Myanmar organized under it struggling for the ethnics Shan rights. He is the advisor of TYN and participates in the reconciliation and peace process of Myanmar.

She also has a certificate in life coaching, and has provided community service as a career coach. For the last 15 years, she has been global privacy officer at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu. Sigrun has graduate degrees from Georgetown and Columbia Universities, and a law degree from Brooklyn Law School. She is a Norwegian immigrant to the US, and lives in New York City.

In 2010, Roziana founded and became CEO of VIRTUE, the Road to Personal Growth---a consulting company in the area of corporation and personal psychological training, coaching, counselling. From 2015 she founded and became the CEO for RMP Indonesia - license holder for Indonesia in The Reiss Motivation Profile - psychological test & personal consultation and people development training. A charter member of Rotary Club Jakarta Metropolitan, District 3410 – Indonesia since 1993, she is now serves as the Deputy District Governor for Jakarta area, she is a writer in KenCan and Inspirasi Magazine.

Jurma A. Tikmasan founded the Tarbilang Foundation in 1990 in Mindanao. Jurma was in the middle of the biggest encounter between the Philippine armed forces and the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) in 1974 that led to the destruction of the entire town of Jolo, and witnessed the Zamboanga siege---as well as other armed encounters. Consequently, she has been greatly involved in peace negotiations to end the armed conflict.

Nevin Can , from Turkey, studied in Istanbul at the Marmara University Law Faculty and graduated in 1989. Since 1991 she is active as attorney at law and founded her law office in 1993. In 2014 she got her mediation license from the Turkish Ministry of Justice, Department of Mediation, and became a mediator in 2015. She is interested in being social and doing good for the society. Therefore, she is a member of several societies. These are Rotary Club İzmir, İzmir Mediator Society, German-Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry, German –Turkish Friendship Society, German-Turkish Lawyers Association.

ya Kala Tamatta, from Nepal, graduated from Bombay University with a Master in Public Administration. She has more than 12 years of experience in HIV prevention, M&E, and women and children. She is a founding member of SEARCH---which supports the rights of women, those who are suffering from different trauma and violence’s. She is also involved in a Dalit organization and Janajati institution working on Nepal’s gender and caste system issues. She was involved in providing inputs in national level documents, Multi-sector Monitoring and Evaluation plan, Operational Plan and DFID Evaluation of UNPD project.

He also acts as Public Health Functional Assignment Adviser for the pilot project of Promoting Local Development Through Decentralized Health Service Delivery (LDDHS), Policy Analysis and Development Unit, The National Committee for Sub-national Democratic Development Secretariat (NCDD-S). Soprach graduated with a Masters Degree in Public Health from the University of Cambodia.

He participated in the KNU delegation in 2012-2013 Peace Talks with Burmese government and attend Union Peace Conference in Jan 12-16, 2016. He is presently serving as Head of Karen National Union Foreign Affairs Department.

Andy Yentriyani completed her undergraduate studies in International Relations at the University of Indonesia and her Masters' Degree on Media and Communications at Goldsmiths College, University of London, UK. In 2009, she was elected commissioner of the National Commission on Violence Against Women (Komnas Perempuan) and led a national campaign on anti-sexual violence, on national advocacy to handle discriminatory bylaws, and on connecting local and global activism. Andy is also a lecturer at the University of Indonesia on gender issues and international relations. She currently coordinates a newly formed Asia Pacific Women’s Alliance on Peace and Security and advises several organizations working on human rights and democracy issues in Indonesia.

Yuyun Wahyuningrum works as Senior Advisor on ASEAN and Human Rights at Human Rights Working Group (HRWG) in Jakarta, Indonesia and as Advisor to ASEAN Parliamentarians for Human Rights (APHR). She is also serving as the Indonesia’s Coordinator of the Center of Responsibility to Protect (R2P) in the university of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia since 2014. She has eight years of professional experience dealing with the work of ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR), ASEAN Commission on the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Women and Children (ACWC) as well as the ASEAN Committee on the Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Migrant Workers (ACMW). She holds Master of Arts (MA) on Human Rights from Mahidol University in Thailand.

Amporn Marddent is a lecturer for the Cultural Studies Program, Walailak University, Thailand. She is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Anthropology, Goethe-University Frankfurt, Germany. She received her Master’s Degree in Comparative Religion from Mahidol University in 2001. Amporn also works as an activist and academic with the Asian Muslim Action Network (AMAN) in Bangkok. Her research includes Muslim Feminism, Islam and Muslim Women’s Movement in Thailand, women’s empowerment during the unrest and violence in the Deep South of Thailand as well as Gender and Sexuality in Islam.

Simone Heuer Simone graduated from law school at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) in Munich, Germany. She then completed a German-French dual degree in International Management (MSc) at ESCP Paris, a French Grande Ecole, and is currently studying political science and sociology at Fernuniversität Hagen on a part-time basis. She also works as an EMT with the Order of Malta for humanitarian aid. Simone coordinated the ITI for women in peacebuilding as well as BRDGES Academy on the development and administration of inter-cultural online training courses. Moreover, she is part of the organizing committee of the World Mediation Summit.
