Police Community Relations
MBBI’s Police Community Relations (PCR) mandate:
Providing an international forum to discuss the use of mediation and related techniques to advance police-community relations.
Through dialogue, best practices, information sharing and training, this group provides a space to share mediative skills, processes, ideas and connections intended to enhance/support/fortify and facilitate the bond between local communities and their police, worldwide.
The PCR's objectives are:
- To provide support and resources to MBBI members and other practitioners who are interested in mediative approaches to community relations
- To identify and compare current ADR practices with each other and to share those practices with the communities and police.
Co-Chairs: Cheryl Epps, Janet Chance and Tom Girling
All are welcome—no prior experience working with police is necessary to attend. The PCR uses LinkedIn Groups to communicate. If you are interested in receiving notifications for these meetings, please email info@mediatorsbeyondborders.org with the subject line "Police Community Relations Mailing List-Add" and you will be invited into the LinkedIn Group.
