Christine Peringer is a facilitator, mediator, collaboration coach and communications trainer specializing in multi-stakeholder planning, negotiation and consensus-building processes.  She works with government, non-profit, private sector and community organizations to support them in addressing climate change, the environment, justice, health and other challenges. She has a law degree and numerous trainings and certifications in restorative justice, mediation, communication, results-based management and organizational development.

Through MBBI’s Climate Change Project, Christine has been a delegate at international climate negotiations since 2019 where she has advocated for collaborative problem-solving and the management of conflict to strengthen the global response to climate change. In 2022, she facilitated the “Open Space Day” within the Capacity Building Hub of the Paris Committee on Capacity Building (PCCB) at the Climate Change Conference (COP 27) in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.

She is co-founder of the Better Climate Governance project (betterclimategovernance.com) through which she has co-hosted three international conferences and published several policy briefs related to improving the process of the UN climate change negotiations. Her recent publications include co-authorship of “Unanimity or standing aside? Reinterpreting consensus in United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) negotiations” published in International Environmental Agreements: Politics, Law and Economics in 2023 and a report submitted to the UNFCCC, “The Impact of Process Innovations in the Technical Dialogue of the First Global Stocktake” in 2024.
